The Opportunity
Our clients demand influencer and content marketing campaigns with a strong strategic backbone, developed by team members who can help brands and agencies navigate this fast-moving territory globally. The Senior Client Partner is a relationship-focused, individual contributor role that is strategically aligned to our business priorities and passionately focused on building a distinctive IZEA brand in Japan.
Due to significant global growth, IZEA is looking to replicate expansion in other Asian markets by establishing a physical presence in Japan. This is a great opportunity with IZEA as this will be our first hire of many in this market. This opportunity could grow to be a Country Lead for IZEA.
The primary focus of IZEA’s Client Development team is to drive profitable revenue growth through relationship expansion efforts. The Senior Client Partner will be assigned a portfolio of targeted brands/agencies and will be responsible for working with other IZEA team members across a variety of the company’s departments to achieve overall account success
In collaboration with the company’s Client Strategy, Creator Partnership, Business Operations, and Campaign Service teams, the Senior Client Partner leads the development of compelling IZEA solutions that ensure a clear value-proposition for clients and a holistic approach that remains authentic to the brand’s voice. Beyond this, the role plays a crucial part in bringing the strategic vision to life by linking the right messaging and the right tactics to maximize value across Owned, Earned and Paid channels. In this role, You are a key part in supercharging IZEA’s biggest and best new ideas.
Your mission at IZEA
-Responsible for the Japanese market, you will represent IZEA in an engaging, compelling manner by leveraging key outbound Japanese brand and agency relationships that you have built over the course of your career.
-Interface, negotiate and develop high-impact relationships with outbound Japanese clients to build business partnerships and support company growth.
-Achieve company objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analyzing performance data, and projecting future performance.
-Identify prospects, generate sales leads, negotiate and close new business via wechat, email, calls and meetings, etc.
-Network at events and meet-ups within the outbound field to build business relationships and partnerships.
-Meet with potential clients and grow long-lasting relationships by understanding their needs.
-Liaise with our internal account team and campaign team regarding case solutions, and provide customer support.
-Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics.
-Continually develop knowledge of the business climate, applications and competition for the defined geography and accounts.
-Have a high degree of understanding for the Creator Economy landscape, including competitive differences between IZEA and other organizations.
-Develop Influencer Marketing concepts, strategies, and proposed investment models to new and existing clientele.
-Make informed business decisions for the benefit of IZEA based off a combination of quantitative data and qualitative, instinctual experiences.
What you will bring to IZEA
-A minimum of 5 years of experience in an advertising/marketing professional services organization or similar organization (e.g. media ad sales, social platform advertising sales) in the Japanese market. Ideal candidate will be located in Tokyo.
-Fluency in both English and Japanese languages is required.
-An instinct for managing clients. You have a proven track record of successfully managing complex relationships and you’ve helped cultivate new initiatives from these relationships. You have a sixth sense when it comes to partnerships and can effortlessly navigate multiple partner engagements simultaneously.
-An intuition for people. With your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you have the ability to communicate to all audiences – whether it’s an intern or a C-level executive in the company – but more importantly, outside of it.
-High throughput. Your strong bias towards action helped you earn the reputation of someone who gets things done. You thrive when you have a lot on your plate and get energy from making our clients’ investment in IZEA a success.
-High emotional intelligence with an understanding of how to effectively lead and inspire creative individuals while relating to analytical marketers simultaneously.
-You have a knack for researching, learning about, and understanding different companies and industries – primarily across Influencer and Content Marketing)
-Thorough knowledge of modern marketing techniques, workflows, and best practices
-BA/BS degree required; MBA valued, but real-life experience is always preferred.
